Toulalan wants Malaga escape route

French international Jeremy Toulalan has informed Malaga he would like to leave if the club’s financial issues are not resolved.

Reports in Spain claim Toulalan, signed from Lyon for €10m before the start of last season, visited La Rosaleda on Wednesday alongside his representatives to hold clear-the-air talks with officials.

The 28-year-old midfielder wants to find out where the Costa del Sol club are heading following owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani’s decision to put the Andalusian outfit up for sale.

According to Spanish sources, Toulalan has offers on the table from several European clubs and could be one of several star players to exit La Rosaleda as the board look to solve mounting cash problems.

Santi Cazorla is believed to be heading to Arsenal while striker Jose Salamon Rondon has been linked with both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

There has also been talk that highly-rated youngster Isco, away representing Spain in the London Olympics, could also be sold on his return if certain guarantees about Los Blanquiazules’ future are not met.
