Barcelona intend to sign new right-back in 2025 – two targets stand out

The 2025 summer transfer window does not open for almost 10 months, but it is already being thought about by Barcelona. The Catalans were unable to do as much business as they wanted in 2024, so there will be a desire to have their finances sorted out by the end of this season, which would allow for increased spending.

According to MD, a new right-back is on the agenda, as the idea is for Jules Kounde to eventually return to playing as a central defender. He and Hector Fort are the only two options in Hansi Flick’s squad for the current season.

One had been wanted this summer, but late deals for Marc Pubill and Joao Cancelo were ultimately impossible. Neither player is on the agenda for 2025, with the report saying that the two leading targets at this stage are Joshua Kimmich and Oscar Mingueza.

Kimmich would be a free agent, provided that he does not sign a new deal at Bayern Munich, while Mingueza would also be a low-cost option. Either deal would be smart for Barcelona to go for.
