Sevilla heavyweight signs new five-year contract, release clause remains at €60m

Sevilla lost their talisman over the summer, with Youssef En-Nesyri joining Fenerbahce in a deal worth in the region of €25m. They almost lost another key player in Loic Bade, although the French defender ended up staying at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Bade accepted the club’s decision not to sell him, and he has been rewarded for this with a new contract. The 24-year-old centre-back, who starred for France at the 2024 Olympic Games, has signed a new five-year deal, which will run until 2029 – this has been confirmed by Sevilla, who broke the news on Monday.

As part of the deal, Relevo say that Bade’s release clause is expected to remain at €60m – a figure that Sevilla would gladly receive, although they would likely accept significantly lower if any clubs do come calling again in 2025.

Bade is expected to be an important player for Sevilla during the tenure of Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, whose reign has not got off to the best start – two draws and two defeats in his opening four matches in charge.
