Barcelona have given up on major additions to their first-team squad, but it has not halted their search for younger talents. After the arrival of Pedro Soma, 17-year-old Antonio Cordero has caught their eye.
A left-footed right-winger, Cordero has already scored and assisted in his first two appearances for Malaga in professional football. The talented forward took just 34 minutes to do so, scoring a crucial goal against Racing Ferrol, and then assisting another against Mirandes in another draw, his contributions salvaging both of Malaga’s points.
Dani Olmo: "Who has surprised me the most here? Raphinha. I had seen him, but I hadn't played with him. The quality he has… He's a player with whom I think we will get along well and I think he gives everything for the team. He's a team player." @sport

Last season he made his debut for Malaga and would go on to play 22 times, with two assists, albeit for a sum total of just 777 minutes. Cordero also scored the goal to take Malaga back up to Segunda after a lengthy absence, in the 121st minute of their play-off promotion final against Nastic.
According to MD, Cordero would be an addition for Barca Atletic in their promotion push, with a view to his development. Malaga are keen to hold onto him though, and have rejected Barcelona’s first offer, although it is not clear whether a second will be made.
