WATCH: Vinicius Junior drags Real Madrid back level from the penalty spot

Real Madrid have been on the brink of dropping points for the second time in three matchdays at the start of the new La Liga season. Las Palmas took the lead early on in Gran Canaria, and they had been somewhat comfortable – however, they have now been pegged back by the reigning champions.

A stunning solo strike from Alberto Moleiro gave the hosts a dream start, and it should have been two in the second half when Sandro Ramirez – who scored in Las Palmas’ first two matches – missed a guilt-edged opportunity. He’s been made to pay, as Vinicius Junior has scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.

Jasper Cillessen saved a penalty in Las Palmas’ defeat to Leganes last weekend, and he came close to stopping this one too. However, it was placed perfectly into the corner, wonderful from Vinicius.

Real Madrid needed that desperately, and they will hope to now find a winning goal that would keep them two points behind Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
