Real Madrid heavyweights have already met to discuss Dani Ceballos alternatives

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos could be the catalyst for Carlo Ancelotti going back on his word, in saying that Los Blancos were closed for business in the transfer window. The 28-year-old is keen for regular football, and could leave in the next 24 hours.

Former club Real Betis and AS Monaco are interested in Ceballos, while Ancelotti senior and assistant Davide Ancelotti are attempting to persuade him to stay. All the same, Marca report that General Director Jose Angel Sanchez called a meeting on Wednesday morning after finding out about Ceballos’ intentions to discuss potential alternatives to him. They are now scouring the market.

There have been some reports claiming that they will not make a short-term move to replace Ceballos, with Arda Guler seen as someone that can be converted into a midfielder. However the battle for him is not lost yet, and with three years on his deal, and Real Madrid demanding a €20m fee for him. It’s a figure that neither Betis nor Monaco are close to yet.
