Real Betis were already all-but ensured of their place in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League after winning 2-0 away from home against Kryvbas last Thursday. In the return leg of their play-off tie at the Benito Villamarin, they secured a 3-0 victory (5-0 agg) to rubber stamp their progression.

It was a four-minute spell inside the latter stages of the first half that killed the contest. In the 40th minute, Aitor Ruibal netted to open the scoring on the night, and just 60 seconds later, Ez Abde doubled the advantage following fantastic play from Rodri Sanchez.
Remarkably, it was 3-0 in the 43rd minute when Abde grabbed his second of the night. It’s only been an easy first 12 months in Seville for the former Barcelona winger, but he will surely take great confidence from this performance.
Betis saw the match out for the remaining minutes, and they can now look forward to Friday’s Conference League draw, during which they will find out their six opponents in the league phase.
