Agent of Barcelona target Jonathan Tah speaks out – ‘Several offers have been rejected’

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah is reportedly keen to leave the club before the end of the transfer window, but all of the bids for the defender have been thus far rejected by die Werkself.

Bayern Munich have been linked to Tah for multiple months now, while Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is keen on him too, and Sporting Director Deco has reportedly made it clear that they would be willing to offer €20m for the German international.

His agent, Pini Zahavi, has made it clear that Leverkusen have been holding out for more though, as he told Fabrizio Romano.

“We want to avoid a player as deserving as Jona leaving the club for free next summer.”

“That’s why we hope that we can find a solution in the short term that all parties can be happy with in the end.”

Tah, 28, is understandably a target for several of Europe’s top sides, and Barcelona have identified the centre-back position as a priority if they are able to do any more business in the coming 36 hours.

For that, the Barcelona board would likely have to provide a bank guarantee in order to get a deal over the line, or rush through a sponsorship agreement in order to have enough space in their salary limit to do the deal. Prior reports have suggested that Leverkusen may be demanding up to €30m for Tah.
