Real Madrid projected to make move for Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen set steep asking price

Real Madrid are closed for business for this summer, and this has been the case for several weeks. No one will be arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu, although that’s not to say that the club’s sporting department aren’t hard at work over potential transfers.

2025’s summer transfer window could be a busy one for Los Blancos. It’s likely that Alphonso Davies and a new right-back will arrive, while another midfielder would also be on the agenda due to Luka Modric’s expected retirement.

The player that Real Madrid want to sign as Modric’s successor is Florian Wirtz. The German playmaker would not be a like-for-like replacement, but club officials believe that he is more than capable of playing in a deeper role.

Relevo say that a move will be made for Wirtz if a deal is viable. At this stage, Bayer Leverkusen’s minimum asking price is €120m.

If Real Madrid do go for Wirtz, it’s not guaranteed that they will get their man even if a deal with Leverkusen is agreed. Bayern Munich are even more interested in his services, and their stance is that an all-out assault will be made next summer. Los Blancos would have to fend them off if they were to secure his services.
