Two clubs ‘insistently calling’ Real Madrid star – club would consider departure

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos was looking to leave the club earlier in the summer, but with little in the way of offer to leave the club, his intentions seemed to have been put on hold. He could have the chance to leave at the last minute though.

As per Marca, AS Monaco and Real Betis are calling Ceballos insistently about a potntial move. Ceballos did not get the game time he wanted last season, and this year competition for places is set to be intense too. The 27-year-old has three years left on his deal, and Real Madrid are less keen on his exit, having lost Toni Kroos without bringing in a replacement. They will not facilitate an exit, but neither will they close the door to one.

Monaco are keen on a loan with an option to buy in the summer of 2025 for Ceballos, who has fallen out of the Spain squad. Betis are linked with Ceballos every summer, and his return seems less likely, as they would need another major exit in order to consider a move.

Two seasons ago, Ceballos was around the 2,000-minute-mark, and was one of the first substitutes used by Carlo Ancelotti, including in the Champions League. Last year he played just over 800 minutes, less than 10 full games, and while the exit of Kroos may give him more opportunities, Ancelotti must also give more chances to Arda Guler and Eduardo Camavinga.
