After a summer in which, after Euro 2024, the headlines were dominated by links between Nico Williams and Barcelona, it was not lost in the melee that the 22-year-old winger spoke with Barcelona manager Hansi Flick after the match. Fresh footage has emerged showing he did so on more than one occasion.
Flick was seen hugging Williams and speaking in his ear after the match, and told the press that he was simply congratulating the Basque winger on his triumph at Euro 2024. However the pair also had a second conversation with Williams, the content of which is less clear.

Naturally the content of that second encounter is unknown, but it seems spurious to read that it had anything to do with Williams’ future. The star of San Mames and newly minted with the number 10 shirt, Williams appears happy in Bilbao, and it looks as if he will remain there for another season at least.
