One figure at Barcelona vetoed Neymar Junior return after player offered himself

Barcelona have been trying to bring in a left winger all summer, with attempts for Nico Williams rebuffed, and interest in Rafael Leao and Luis Diaz proving futile in the face of the cost of those deals. ONe name that has been bubbling below the surface in recent weeks is Neymar Junior.

A smattering of reports have emerged declaring that Neymar would be delighted to be their left winger this season. The Brazilian winger is just recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury at Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, with his contract up next summer.

As per Jijantes, via Sport, Neymar offered himself to the club, and there was some appetite for his return, with President Joan Laporta keen on a marquee signing. However manager Hansi Flick vetoed the deal, deciding it was not the right move for the club.

Barcelona currently have Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Ansu Fati, Pau Victor and Ferran Torres as options on the left side, but currently Lamine Yamal is the only expert at beating his man in the final third. Nevertheless, clearly Flick does not feel the pros outweigh the cons.

  1. We don’t need him!
The train has moved and no turning back again.
He is jealous of Vinicius Jr tending towards winning Balon D’or and believe that the only club that can guarantee him that is Barcelona. But the boat has sailed!
Greed ruined his career completely and thanks to his parents.
