Carlo Ancelotti dismisses concerns over Kylian Mbappe’s start at Real Madrid

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti gave a typically straightforward response when asked about Kylian Mbappe’s form.

Mbappe’s move to Madrid has been the dominant transfer story in Spain this summer after he agreed a free transfer to the Spanish capital.

Despite the fanfare surrounding Mbappe’s move to La Liga, his start to life at the club, has been mixed in front of goal.

The France captain netted a debut goal in the UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta but he is yet to score in league action.

Ancelotti has started him in Real Madrid’s first two games of the campaign, with two shots on target in a 1-1 draw at Mallorca, followed by three in their 3-0 home win over Real Valladolid.

Those efforts are yet to yield a goal as the pressure starts to creep up on Real Madrid’s new No.9.

“He’s a spectacular striker, very fast, very good without the ball. He attacks from deep, he had three or four good chances today”, as per quotes from Diario AS.

.”He doesn’t need to move to the left or the right, in the end, he will score goals.”

Up next for Real Madrid and Mbappe is a midweek trip to Las Palmas on August 29.

  1. The consternation about Mbappe not scoring yet is perhaps the most knee-jerk and ridiculous alarm I think I’ve ever read, and I’ve been watching sports for over 50 years.

IT’S BEEN TWO GAMES. Wake me up if he goes five more without scoring, ok? Otherwise, maybe find something else to panic and overreact about, lol.
