Atletico Madrid must make sales if they are to register their final two signings – expected to be Clement Lenglet and Juan Musso. Samu Omorodion has already departed, and another starlet will soon depart the club: Arthur Vermeeren.
Vermeeren has struggled to make an impact at Atleti since joining from Royal Antwerp in January. The arrival of Conor Gallagher has pushed him down the pecking order, and playing time was set to be scarce for the teenage midfielder.
A departure on loan has been rumoured in recent weeks, and according to Matteo Moretto, he Vermeeren will leave before Friday’s transfer deadline. His desire is to join RB Leipzig.

Moretto also notes that one of the reasons for Vermeeren’s departure is that he does fit into the philosophy of Diego Simeone.
🚨🇧🇪 JUST IN: Atlético has decided to let go of Arthur Vermeeren because he is not compatible with Simeone's philosophy.

Vermeeren promised much when he joined Atletico Madrid during the winter, but similarly to Vitor Roque at Barcelona, it appears that he is simply not fancied by his manager. It remains to be seen whether there are chances for him to leave the club on a permanent basis.
