Impending departure gets sweeter for Barcelona as buy-back clause valuation revealed

Barcelona are close to finalising three departures: Vitor Roque, Clement Lenglet and Mikayil Faye. Only the latter will be leaving on a permanent basis, with Rennes having agreed a fee with the Catalan giants earlier this week.

MD have revealed the exact details of the agreement between Barcelona and Rennes. The Ligue 1 side will pay a fixed fee of €11m for the 20-year-old defender, whose arrival should be made official in the next 24-48 hours.

Furthermore, Barcelona have retained a sell-on and buy-back clause. The former is worth 30%, so in the event of Rennes selling, they would receive a very healthy amount of the transfer fee paid. Perhaps even better is that their option to buy Faye back is only set at €25m, significantly less than the €35m that was initially reported.

On paper, this is an outstanding deal for Barcelona. Given the achievable buy-back option, there’s absolutely no doubt that club officials will be keeping an eye on Faye’s progress in France.
