Eric Garcia could still leave Barcelona and return to Girona before the transfer window closes.
La Blaugrana are expected to offload more players before the August 30 deadline to balance an evolving financial situation at the club.
Garcia previously stated his desire to fight for a first team place back at Barcelona following a superb loan spell at Girona in 2023/24.
The 23-year-old played a key role in Girona’s first ever UEFA Champions League qualification but they did not make an immediate move to retain him.
Despite Garcia’s preference to stay at Barcelona, the need to make cuts remains a constant theme, and Girona boss MIchel Sanchez is open to a reunion.
“He’s a great player, we all know that, but right now he’s a Barcelona player and I don’t know what will happen”, as per reports from Mundo Deportivo.
Michel also hinted he does not expect any departures from his squad in the final days of the window, but Garcia could be among one or two reinforcements brought into the Estadi Montilivi.
