Latest Barcelona plan to raise funds hits dead end as player stops board in their tracks

Barcelona have been trying all summer to try and make sales, with a number of players having the door opened to an exit for them. However the most consistent answer has been that the players are not open to an exit. Their latest plan has his a dead end.

Recent reports stated that Barcelona would open the door to a move for Andreas Christensen, who still has admirers in the Premier League. The Catalan side were willing to open the door to a move for just €25m for the Danish international, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur keen on him.

However Sport say that like Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha and Ferran Torres before him, Christensen is not interested in going anywhere else. Christensen is happy in Barcelona, and his family are settled with two years left on his deal.

Despite the departures of Oriol Romeu, Marc Guiu and Chadi Riad, and the imminent exits of Ilkay Gundogan, Vitor Roque and Mikayil Faye, it seems the Blaugrana have more to do in order to do the business they want. They remain unable to register Dani Olmo, who was signed for €55m plus €7m in variables earlier this summer.
