Villarreal have had a very busy – and expensive – week. They closed the signings of Luiz Junior and Thierno Barry from Famalicao and FC Basel respectively, and they’ve now secured the final piece in the puzzle that head coach Marcelino Garcia Toral was looking for: a new central defender.
It was reported on Wednesday that Villarreal were close to agreeing terms with Toulouse for Logan Costa. Just over 24 hours later, the deal has been confirmed by the Yellow Submarine, who take their signings during this summer’s transfer window to eight.

Costa, who is an international for Cape Verde, has signed a six-year deal with Villarreal. Diario AS have reported that the operation with Toulouse will cost in the region of €17.5m.
Costa could be added to Marcelino’s squad for Friday’s match-up against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Villarreal will believe that they have a serious talent on their hands, and it remains to be seen how he makes the adaptation from French to Spanish football.
