It’s no secret that Barcelona are pursuing a deal for Federico Chiesa. The Juventus star is their alternative option after ending their interest in Nico Williams, who will be remaining at Athletic Club for at least another season.
Barcelona have held regular talks with Chiesa’s representatives in recent days, and soon, they will table their opening offer to Juventus. As per Sport, a fixed fee of €9m will be proposed, with €4m in variables also included.

Barcelona will not table the bid until the sale of Mikayil Faye is finalised. The 20-year-old defender is set to join Ligue 1 side Rennes in a deal worth €12m, and the funds raised will go towards the pursuit of Chiesa.
The key for Barcelona will be reducing their wage bill enough to register Chiesa. It won’t be easy, as they’ve still yet to register Dani Olmo with La Liga – despite the fact that he joined the club two weeks ago.
