Real Madrid ponder decision to activate €8m transfer market opportunity

Real Madrid are not planning any moves in the transfer market between now and the end of the month. Carlo Ancelotti has already re-iterated on several occasions that his squad is closed – and is it, but that may not stop a senior player being bought.

According to Diario AS, Real Madrid bosses are considering whether to activate the €8m buy-back clause that the club has on Miguel Gutierrez. They are aware that the 23-year-old is attracting strong interest, and that Girona may sell before the transfer window closes in 10 days’ time.

Real Madrid’s idea, if executed, would be to re-sign Gutierrez, before immediately selling him on for a significant profit. He would not join Ancelotti’s squad, as Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia would remain as the left-back options.

Real Madrid will continue to remain attentive to the situation over the coming days. It would be a very smart move if significant profit is guaranteed, although Girona would undoubtedly hope that Los Blancos do not get involved.
