Real Betis target issues come-and-get-me plea – “Everyone knows it’s my home”

Real Betis have had a very busy transfer window, and it’s far from over. They’re currently in talks with Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund over deals for Vitor Roque and Youssoufa Moukoko respectively, while there could also be a goalkeeper signing.

There’s little doubt that Alvaro Valles will be joining Betis, but the only question is: when? He’s prepared to run down his contract (which ends next summer) to return to his boyhood club, but his desire would be to make the move before the transfer window closes on the 30th of June.

Valles, who’s been ostracised from the Las Palmas first team squad because of his decision to not sign a new contract, has spoken to El Chiringuito (via Sport) on his future, and he teased that inevitable return to the Benito Villamarin.

“We are seeing the market. Whatever happens will be good for both parties. Everyone knows (Betis) is my home, but you never know.”

Valles will need to wait for Rui Silva to leave Betis if he is to return this summer. The Portuguese is the current number one, but club bosses won’t sign a replacement until he leaves – and for now, there is insufficient interest.

  1. Good to see Betis with some coin to spend on upgrades. I love Fekir, but he has lost his speed to injuries so is best played as a transition midfielder who can receive, hold, and pass the ball forward in attack. His free-kick and corner kick specialty is worth the price of admission. Nevertheless, Betis needs a true #9.
