Liverpool make second bid for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili

Liverpool have already wrapped up a deal with Giorgi Mamardashvili on personal terms, with a deal agreed for a €4m net salary, and a long-term contract. The plan is for him to head to Bournemouth this season on loan, if a deal can be agreed with Valencia.

According to Relevo, Bournemouth are willing to contribute a €5m loan fee for Mamardashvili, Valencia and Liverpool would then sign a right-to-buy for 2025, and his move would be made permanent. Bournemouth are keen to get the deal wrapped up though, and have informed the other two that it must be completed swiftly, as they have started looking at alternatives.

Liverpool had initialy made a €35m bid, consisting of €30m in a fixed fee rising a further €5m in variables. Their latest offer would make it to the €40m that Valencia had initially set out to bring in for him at the start of the summer. The increase is only in variables though, and Valencia are yet to respond.

If Valencia do delay though, and Bournemouth pull out of the operation, Mamardashvili would be content to remain at Mestalla next summer. The fee that Valencia would receive would decline at that point without the contribution from Bournemouth though.

The positive news for Mamardashvili, Liverpool and Bournemouth is that Valencia do not intend to stand in the way of the goalkeeper fulfilling a dream move. That said, the head of Meriton Holdings and therefore head of Valencia, Peter Lim, is notoriously tricky to negotiate with. With Valencia struggling to bring players in though, it seems more likely than not that Mamardashvili is their big sale.
