Following the news that Atletico Madrid have agreed the sale of Joao Felix to Chelsea, the deal between the two clubs for Conor Gallagher will be re-activated. It had been on hold following the collapse of Samu Omorodion’s move to London approximately 10 days ago, but it can now proceed as Los Colchoneros will have the necessary funds to complete the operation.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Conor Gallagher will fly to Madrid on Tuesday evening in order to complete his move to Atleti. €42m is the fee that was agreed between the two clubs, and as well as this, Chelsea will retain an undisclosed sell-on clause.

Gallagher would arrive in time to be presented by Atletico Madrid to their supporters on Wednesday, with the same event being used to show off fellow signings Robin Le Normand, Alexander Sorloth and Julian Alvarez. These four won’t be the only players to join this summer, as further transfers are being planned.
