Decision made: 28-year-old will not leave Real Madrid this summer

Real Madrid have reduced the number of players in their first team squad compared to last season. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Nacho Fernandez, Toni Kroos and Joselu Mato all left earlier this summer, with only Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe arriving. Despite this, Carlo Ancelotti has declared that the club is closed for business.

Ancelotti stated that no signings or sales will be made involving the first team, although that had not stopped rumours of possible departures. Andriy Lunin has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, while Dani Ceballos has also been considering his future, amid another season where he probably won’t see too much action.

In the latter’s case, he is prepared to fight for a starting spot – which is now more likely after the recent injury suffered by Eduardo Camavinga. Marca say that Ceballos – who’s been linked with Atletico Madrid and Real Betis in recent months – has decided that he will not leave Real Madrid this summer, as his plan is to elevate himself in the eyes of Ancelotti.

It’s clear that Real Madrid cannot afford to lose anymore players this summer, so club bosses will appreciate Ceballos’ desire to stay. He should see more playing time that he got last season.
