Carlo Ancelotti applauds Kylian Mbappe for taking humble approach at Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe had the perfect start to life at Real Madrid on Wednesday, as he scored on his debut in the UEFA Super Cup final – a 2-0 victory over Atalanta. He, as well as Madridistas, will hope that’s the first of many goals for him this season.

Mbappe’s arrival improves an already star-studded Real Madrid squad, but despite coming in as one of the players in the world, the 25-year-old has not allowed his ego to thrive. That’s according to Carlo Ancelotti, who issued his praise for the French forward during his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to Mallorca (via Diario AS).

“As is the case with all the new players, the people at the club try to make them feel comfortable. He is an extraordinary talent, and we must help him adapt. He has entered the dressing room very well, with humility, very serious… He has started very well.”

Ancelotti also spoke on preparing for his first La Liga match without the services of Toni Kroos, who retired during the summer.

“The first game went well for us. We will always miss Kroos, he was a special player. Looking for someone like him is impossible, we must adapt instead. It’s good that the players have to think.”

It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid get on at Son Moix on Sunday. Kroos will undoubtedly be a big miss, although the added firepower of Mbappe will certainly help their efforts for all-conquering success this season.
