Barcelona have already finalised the sale of Julian Araujo, and in the coming days, the departure of Mikayil Faye on a permanent basis should also become a reality. After that, sporting director Deco will be tasked with finding a new home for Vitor Roque, whose future at the Catalan giants is very uncertain.
Despite reports that he could leave on a dry loan, Barcelona are prioritising the sale of Roque. They are open to a loan with an option/obligation to buy, which is a route that Sporting CP are willing to explore.
As per Sport, Deco met with Sporting officials on Friday to discuss a possible deal for Roque. The meeting has been described as positive, and from within Can Barca, there is hope that an agreement can be sealed next week.
It’s clear that Barcelona are desperate for funds, and while a dry loan for Roque – preferably in La Liga – would have been the best outcome for all this summer, it appears unlikely that this will be the case. Club officials are determined to put his dark chapter between them as soon as possible.
