Roma considering surprise Paulo Dybala replacement in Spanish Segunda

AS Roma are contemplating losing arguably their star man in Paulo Dybala. The Argentine is considering a lucrative three-year deal in Saudi Arabia, after Al-Qadsiah activated his €15m release clause this week.

One of the options the Giallorossi are reportedly considering to replace Dybala is former Real Madrid academy product Sergio Arribas. He moved to Almeria last season, and despite their dreadful campaign looked impressive, notching 9 goals in his first season in professional football. As per MD, Roma have gotten in touch with Almeria to find out what Arribas would cost. Previous reports have claimed that the Andalusian side would demand €20m for his services.

Factoring into their calculations is the fact that Real Madrid will be due 50% of any transfer fee that Roma pay for Arribas. Almeria paid €6m for the 22-year-old last summer, and still have five years remaining on his deal, meaning they will not want to give him up on the cheap. There is little doubt about his talent, although to trust him to be the main playmaker at Roma would be a big step.
