Pep Guardiola open to Joao Cancelo stay at Manchester City

Barcelona appear to be edging further away from a deal to bring back Joao Cancelo for the 2024/25 season.

Barcelona and Manchester City have been locked in talks over a fresh agreement on the defender since the start of the summer.

Cancelo has openly stated his preference of wanting to stay in Barcelona and City are open to offloading him ahead of the incoming Premier League campaign.

However, with progress slow, all options remain on the table in Manchester and Catalonia, with City sticking to their €25m valuation of the Portugal international.

With Barcelona prioritising other targets, and the financial situation at the club meaning they are only likely to offer another loan, Cancelo could remain at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola is open to a revival of his fractured relationship with Cancelo, despite appearing keen on cutting ties, as the transfer window clock runs down.

“He’s back in training with us. We will see what happens. Maybe he will stay, maybe he will go on loan. I don’t know yet”, as per reports from BBC Sport.

Guardiola also confirmed no formal offers had been received for Cancelo since his return from a post-Euro 2024 break.

    Pay up mongrels.
What, you believe you still are in 2011 when refs were paid and everyone owed you a favor? Nope, youre yesterdays news, a second rate team.

We just got worlds best player. Imagine that even ATM signed better than you. And they didnt even have to sell 50% of club sovereignity to do that. They saved money like you should have done. Take some years on being trampled on. Maybe come back later with signings when time is right.
But instead, you choose to ruin your future.

It is a BIG if whether the smegmalona will end 3rd on table this year, if Girona has another quality season, diIdoIona might even have to settle for fourth spot.

    PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
