Liverpool given huge boost for Giorgi Mamardashvili deal

Liverpool are closing in on their first signing of the summer, with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili keen on a move to Anfield.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, and it appears as if he will first spend one or two seasons at Bournemouth on loan, before heading to compete for the number one spot, with Alisson Becker currently installed.

Matteo Moretto has informed Football España that Liverpool and Valencia are negotiating the details of a €35m move, and while no deal has been definitively struck, it looks as if it may happen. Valencia have no intention of standing in the way of Mamardashvili’s dream move, hence barring a major breakdown, it looks as if he will become a Red.

Mamardashvili enjoyed an excellent Euro 2024 for Georgia, taking his Valencia form over the last two seasons to the international stage. He has received approaches from Saudi Arabia earlier this summer, but decided to wait for a move to a traditional European powerhouse.
