Villarreal consider signing goalkeeper formerly of Arsenal and Juventus

Over the last couple of weeks, Villarreal have been searching for a new goalkeeper, following the sale of Filip Jorgensen to Chelsea. They’ve been without success in their pursuit so far, which is why they’ve now turned their attention to a possible market opportunity.

Earlier in the week, Juventus announced that they had parted ways with Wojciech Szczesny, who they had on their books for the last seven years. The Polish stopper, who also played for Arsenal and Roma, is now a free agent, and a move to La Liga could be on the cards.

As per Cadena SER, Villarreal are evaluating the possibility of signing Szczesny. He would be a very experienced candidate to compete alongside Diego Conde for the starting spot at La Ceramica.

If Szczesny’s wages weren’t too much, this could be a very good signing for Villarreal. He and Conde would be a very nice ‘keeper pool for head coach Marcelino Garcia Toral.
