Atletico Madrid have been in talks with Chelsea for several weeks, discussing multiple deals. Right now, only one is being worked on: Joao Felix’s possible return to the Premier League giants.

Atleti and Chelsea previously had agreements in place for Conor Gallagher and Samu Omorodion to swap clubs, but the deal for the latter broke down at the last minute. It means that Gallagher’s arrival in the Spanish capital is on hold, but it can be re-activated if Felix moves to London.
From within Atleti, there is a determination to finalise a deal as soon as possible. Currently, an agreement is not close, but Chelsea have been given the hurry-up to meet demands – that’s because a loose deadline has been set to wrap things up, as per Diario AS.
Atleti want to unveil Gallagher alongside their other summer signings. The presentation takes place next Wednesday, so the club’s idea is to have the Felix deal wrapped up before then.
It remains to be seen whether Felix does end up returning to Chelsea. Atletico Madrid will be determined to make this the case, so that Gallagher is able to finally join Diego Simeone’s squad.
