WATCH: Kylian Mbappe scores on Real Madrid debut as UEFA Super Cup final goes to 2-0

Real Madrid are heading at lightning speed towards their first trophy of the season. The first hour of the UEFA Super Cup final was not easy for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, but after breaking the deadlock, they’ve now added a second soon after.

It was Federico Valverde that scored the opener in Warsaw, following outstanding play from Vinicius Junior. The second goal has now come from Kylian Mbappe, who marks his Real Madrid debut with a goal – he was set up brilliantly by Jude Bellingham, who’s been in top form over the opening 68 minutes.

It was inevitable that Mbappe would have a say on his debut match in the famous white jersey. That goal will undoubtedly lift a weight of his shoulders – scoring early in his Real Madrid career would have been a main aim for the 25-year-old, and to do it in the UEFA Super Cup final will feel extra special. It also means that Los Blancos now have one hand on their first trophy of the season.
