This week, Lamine Yamal’s mind would have been on Barcelona’s opening match of the 2024-25 La Liga season on Saturday, when Hansi Flick’s side take on Valencia at the Mestalla. However, that will feel immaterial to the 17-year-old right now, as he has suffered a serious family emergency.
La Vanguardia (via Marca) have reported that Lamine Yamal’s father, Mounir Nasraoui, has been stabbed. The incident took place in the town of Mataro, which is north of Barcelona.

The Catalan police are currently investigating the matter. Nasraoui, whose prognosis had been described as “dire” by the report, was transferred to the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona.
Fortunately, Nasraoui appears to have escaped serious harm, as Relevo reporter Jordi Cardero has stated that he has returned home from hospital following the incident. He has been described as being in “good health”.

It’s fantastic to hear that Nasraoui is okay following the incident. His family, including Lamine Yamal, will be incredibly relieved.
What is the matter with you catalanimal savages?
