Four teams interested in loan move for Barcelona forward

Barcelona have made it clear to Ansu Fati that he is not part of their plans this season, and the 21-year-old is set for a second straight year out on loan, with few sides willing to consider a permanent move. The injury-laden forward is currently suffering from a foot problem that has kept him out for several weeks.

According to Sport, four teams have shown interest in Fati, but his large salary is an obstacle for both his suitors and Barcelona. Sevilla have shown the most enduring interest in Fati, but will only pay around 30% of his salary for the season. Meanwhile Olympique Marseilles have enquired about terms, with their move for Youssoufa Moukoko falling through.

Benfica have also missed out on Joao Felix seemingly, and they would be willing to give him a shot on the other coast of the Iberian Peninsula, while Wolverhampton Wanderers are also a possibility. Mendes’ relationship with Wolves means he could likely make a move happen.

Fati has said no to Wolves in the past, although that was a permanent move as part of a deal for Ruben Neves, rather than a loan. Sevilla also attempted a loan move for the young forward last summer, but Roberto de Zerbi convinced him to move to Brighton. He is now in charge of Marseille, and apparently still holds him in good regard, despite not playing Fati much. It is not yet clear which of those destinations would be preferable.
