Barcelona will find it ‘very difficult’ to end transfer market within salary limit – report

Despite optimism being leaked from the club over their finances this summer for months, as the end of the transfer market approaches, Barcelona remain up against the wall.

With their league debut three days away, five senior players are still yet to be registered with La Liga and Hansi Flick will not have them available, as things stand. According to RAC1, Barcelona are facing a difficult task to reach the end of the tranfer market on the 30th of August within their salary limit.

While the Blaugrana have covered their €40m that was not paid by Libero last season for Barca Vision, they must now attend to the €60m due this summer from Libero, Orpheus Media and Socios, which none intend on paying. Currently Barcelona are in negotiations with multiple businesses to front that money, but it’s a tricky task. The alternative is to sell players and reduce their wage bill at the same time.

If Barcelona could get a new sponsorship deal with Nike over the line, that would put them within touching distance of doing so, and smaller transfers or deals may be sufficient at that point.

The deal with Nike is rumoured to be worth around €1.2b to €1.3b over a decade-long period, but the Blaugrana are likely to receive a large signing bonus in order to address their salary limit issues.
