Real Madrid forward turns down major offer from Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid are stacked with forwards this summer following the arrivals of Endrick Felipe and Kylian Mbappe, but extracting any of their other resources looks difficult. With Rodrygo Goes reportedly shunning any advances, the same can be said for Vinicius Junior.

In the case of the former, Premier League sides are aware that Rodrygo could find himself out of the team before long, while that is not the case for Vinicius. Nevertheless, The Athletic are reporting that Saudi Arabia have come in with a ‘lucrative offer’ for Vinicius this summer, but the Brazilian swiftly turned down their approach. They were keen to make him the face of Saudi football ahead of the 2034 World Cup, but Vinicius is happy in the Spanish capital, and has three more years on his deal. Saudi Arabia are expected to come again for him though.

Certainly if they were to bring Vinicius in, they would have to pay over the odds – the 24-year-old is a Ballon d’Or contender, and winning at the top level currently, so any motivation to leave would be financial. It seems unlikely anyone will be able to buy Vinicius unless he becomes unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
