Barcelona tell agent to find new team for striker

Barcelona are now focused on getting players out the door having finally secured the arrival of Dani Olmo on Friday from RB Leipzig. He is largely expected to operate on the left side of attack, and that is the exact position Ansu Fati would typically occupy.

The 21-year-old was also being trialled as a central striker by Hansi Flick in training, and he was promised that he would have preseason to impress the German coach and earn his place in the side. However a foot injury keeping him out until September has scuppered that idea.

It also appears to have done for his chances of playing a key role for the Blaugrana this summer. As per Sport, Barcelona Sporting Director Deco has told agent Jorge Mendes to squeeze his contacts book to find a destination for Ansu Fati this summer. As much as he does not have a place in the side, Barcelona need to try and find another club to pay some of his high salary.

Earlier in the transfer window Fati reportedly turned down the chance to join Fenerbahce, while Sevilla have consistently been linked with a loan move for the Andalusian native. However Los Nervionenses are supposedly only willing to take on around 30% of his salary, which is obviously far from ideal for Barcelona. However they will also be aware that his value continues to plummet, with three years left on his deal.
