Real Betis to have increasingly important player back available for La Liga opener

Real Betis are about to lose one of their most important attackers in Ayoze Perez, who’s set to join Villarreal in the coming days. It’s a hammer blow for Manuel Pellegrini for Manuel Pellegrini on the cusp of the 2024-25 season kicking off next week.

Los Verdiblancos host Girona in their MD1 fixture at the Benito Villamarin on Thursday, but they will almost certainly be without their first-choice left winger in Ayoze. Pellegrini will need a replacement, and one option that will be available to him is Ez Abde.

As per MD, Abde will return to Betis training on Monday, thus allowing him to be available against Girona. No rest will be taken by the 22-year-old following the conclusion of his involvement at the Olympic Games, where he was on form for Morocco – especially in the final, when he scored one and assisted two in a 6-0 victory over Egypt.

It was a tough first season for Abde at Betis, following his move from Barcelona last summer. He will be hoping for better fortunes during the 2024-25 campaign, and he should have a more important role in the squad because of Ayoze’s impending departure.
