Barcelona have meeting in place to agree exit of 22-year-old defender to Premier League side

Barcelona have shifted their priorities to trying to get some money in the door following the signing of Dani Olmo on Friday, and it looks as if Mexican defender Julian Araujo might be one of the players that is nudged towards the exit.

After featuring exclusively out of position for Hansi Flick during their preseason tour to the USA, it appears Araujo did not impress his new boss sufficiently, and he has given the green light for an exit. On Thursday it emerged that Bournemouth were in contact with Araujo and Barcelona over a €9m dealFabrizio Romano has now revealed that Barcelona have a meeting scheduled in with Bournemouth early next week to finalise his exit to the South Coast of the Premier League.

Flick used left-back Alex Valle and another youngster Hector Fort ahead of Araujo at right-back, despite a promising season on loan at Las Palmas last season. Araujo played well for most of last season, after arriving at the club for €4m from LA Galaxy 18 months ago. It had been thoguht he would be given a chance this season, but it seems he is not to Flick’s taste.
