Barcelona finalise €10m Premier League sale

Barcelona need to secure funds in their bid to return to La Liga’s 1:1 rule, and sales will be important in the next few weeks if they are to achieve that goal. Fortunately, money is coming in soon in this regard.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona were in talks with Bournemouth over the sale of Julian Araujo, who was seemingly out of favour under Hansi Flick during pre-season. A deal worth €10m has been agreed, and Sport have now reported that the operation has been finalised.

The deal should be made officials in the coming days, with The Athletic’s David Ornstein stating that Araujo will made the journey to England on Sunday.

It does make sense for Barcelona to sell at right-back, with Jules Kounde, Hector Fort and Alex Valle as options on top of Araujo. The Mexican failed to secure a proper opportunity in Catalonia, and it remains to be seen whether club officials are made to regret that.
