Argentina hoping to have home advantage against Spain in 2025 Finalissima

The second instalment of the Finalissima is scheduled for next summer, with Argentina – winner of the 2024 Copa America – and Spain – Euro 2024 victors – contesting the showpiece event.

There are doubts about when the match can be held, due to the new Club World Cup taking up a large portion of the 2025 summer. That’s a problem for FIFA to solve, and they must also work out where the match will be held.

Wembley Stadium played host to the event in 2022, with Argentina winning 3-0 on that occasion. Because Europe hosted last time out, the game will be held in South America in 2025, and the reigning Copa America champions want home advantage, according to Relevo.

River Plate’s Estadio Monumental is the stadium proposed by the Argentine Football Association. UEFA and Conmebol must come to an agreement on the matter, and Spain will be hoping that the AFA do not get their way, as a more level playing field will surely be desired by the reigning European champions.
