Barcelona star Fermin Lopez wants to complete a Olympic gold and Euro 2024 double tonight.
Lopez has played a key part in Spain’s march to the gold medal final at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as they prepare to take on hosts France.
The midfielder has scored four goals so far in the tournament including three in the knockout stages with one each against Japan and Morocco.
Despite only playing a substitute role in Spain’s games in their Euro 2024 title win, Lopez was praised for his off field support, and he should be a starter in Paris.
All eyes will be on the Parc des Princes for the final showdown and Lopez is confident Spain can achieve their goal in the French capital.
“It’s a dream to be able to achieve a double like this. I’m very excited and eager to do it. Let’s see if it can happen”, as per quotes from Marca.
“We are a family too. In the locker room we have a great group of people. We help each other a lot on the field and that is evident in the games.”
Regardless of the result in France, Lopez will be granted an extended break ahead of Barcelona’s return to La Liga action away at Valencia on August 17.
He is not expected to return to club matters until mid-September.
