Atletico Madrid €20m demands for forward threaten to scupper move to Besiktas

Atletico Madrid are likely to consider one or two exits in the coming weeks, with a large outlay on transfers. One of the potential victims of their spending is Angel Correa.

With Robin Le Normand, Conor Gallagher and Alexander Sorloth already through the door for over €100m, and Julian Alvarez likely to cost €75-95m too, Los Colchoneros are only looking at a €45m deal for Samu Omorodion bringing in money the other way.

Correa, who was close to leaving the club in January, had caught the attention of Besiktas, and reports in Turkey claimed that an agreement had been reached. Diario AS have contradicted that information though, saying Atletico will demand at least €20m for Correa as a minimum. They are not intending on selling him in general though.

The 29-year-old is one of three forwards that can play through the middle with Samu Omorodion and Alexander Sorloth, although the former is expexted to be swapped for Julian Alvarez. With Diego Simeone looking at playing two attackers behind a number nine though, he will no doubt feel he has a good chance of minutes, albeit not from the start.
