Girona turn to Scottish football to find replacement for top scorer in La Liga following €35m exit

Aberdeen look set to lose North Macedonian striker Bojan Miovski, and he could be plying his trade in the Champions League next season. The 25-year-old target man is set for a big move this summer after two successful seasons on the North-East Coast of Scotland.

According to MD, Girona have a deal agreed with Miovski, and are hammering out the final details of one with Aberdeen for Miovski. The 25-year-old could complete a move as soon as this week, and join his new teammates.

The information is corroborated by Matteo Moretto, although he terms the negotiation at ‘advanced stages’, whereas the Catalan daily seem more certain of the deal. khad been attracting interest from Genoa and La Liga rivals Espanyol, but it looks like he will head to Montilivi.

Where there is less certainty is how much he will cost. Top scorer in Spain last season Artem Dovbyk joined Roma in a €30.5m deal rising to €35m with variables, and already they have signed Abel Ruiz from Braga for €9m. Certainly Aberdeen will be aware that Girona have the money in the bank during negotiations.

Last season Miovski scored 26 goals in 53 appearances for Aberdeen last season, and 16 goals the season before, totalling 51 goal contributions in 97 appearances for the Dons. Prior to that, he had a reasonably successful spell at MTK Budapest before earning a €650k move to Pittodrie, two summers back.
