Ronaldo Nazario U-turns on decision to sell Real Valladolid

It’s been a tumultuous few years for Real Valladolid, although things could now be looking up. They secured an immediate return to La Liga at the end of last season, and with preparations being made for the 2024-25 campaign, the situation at the top of the club has now been clarified.

Ronaldo Nazario has owned Valladolid since 2018. He’s not been the most popular among supporters during his time, and he had previously decided to sell his shares. However, he has now U-turned on that stance.

On Wednesday, Valladolid confirmed that Ronaldo will continue as president and owner. He will also pay money from his own pocket to increase the club’s salary cap – an essential move if they are to sign the players needed to give themselves the best possible chance of not being relegation from La Liga after one season.

It remains to be seen how Valladolid get on during the 2024-25 season. So far, they’ve completed seven signings, but more are needed to ensure a competitive squad in La Liga.

  1. I am so glad to hear that Ronaldo is staying. I so much want to see him mightily succeed in bringing gloy to Real Valladolid. I used to play the Spanish Football Quiniela back in the 1970s and became infatuated with Valladolid when I did not really know that much about the team.
