Barcelona will use emergency injury rule to register players as Dani Olmo arrives with 10 in the queue

It had been suggested that Barcelona may choose to unregister star defender Ronald Araujo this summer, as he is expected to be out for most of the rest of the year. That does not appear as if it will be the case, but they are still yet to make public any progress on their salary limit situation.

As per Sport, amongst others, Barcelona will use the emergency injury rule to register new players, which allows them to use up to 80% of Araujo’s salary for the period in which he is out. That 80% must then be paid back as an extra penalty on their salary limit next season, in the same way that Barcelona used Gavi’s injury to register Vitor Roque.

The Catalan daily point out that as many as 10 players are waiting to be registered, if Dani Olmo is included, with his signing set to be completed this week. Inigo Martinez, Vitor Roque, Pau Victor, Marc Casado and returning loanees Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre, Alex Valle, Julian Araujo and Ansu Fati are all yet to be included in their squad for next season.

It has been suggested that Barcelona will close a deal to bring in the money that they were not paid by Libero for Barca Vision this week, but that was also the case, a month ago, and on various occasions before. Equally concerning is the fact that Barcelona seem to have no easy sales they can make on the table either.

  1. “Equally concerning is the fact that Barcelona seem to have no easy sales they can make on the table either.”

Market is saturated on perennial chokers, hasbeens and overpaid dime a dozen players.
    PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 🫵🤣

  2. This simply appears to be more slight of hand and talking out of both sides of their mouth. Barcelona are dead broke and refuse to stop their shenanigans. I can’t believe Danny Olmo (whom I like as a player) fell for it. Total chaos. This is a broken management and needs to be replaced immediately and stop the madness. A once great club is now in shambles due to incompetence, greed and dishonesty.
