Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has become Atletico Madrid’s top target in midfield this summer, after they missed out on Mikel Merino at Real Sociedad. They have had a deal with Chelsea agreed, rumoured at around €40m, but still nothing done with the England international himself.
As per Matteo Moretto, the 24-year-old is not reluctant to move to Atletico Madrid, despite the delay in him giving them an answer. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea have offered him a fresh deal, and Atletico have given him until the end of the weekend to make a call.

It is thought that remaining at Chelsea is the least likely option for Gallagher as things stand though. He is abundantly aware of the fact that he would be available to sign with anyone he pleases in just over four months time, and that is the main alternative to Atletico as things stand.
🔵🏴 Atlético Madrid want final answer by end of the weekend or Gallagher deal can collapse.
Chelsea will hold talks with Conor aimed at resolving his future today.

These matters are of course liable to change quickly, and the Blues could well try to convince him to stay yet. However it appears Atletico will have certainty on the matter by Monday, one way or another.
