Barcelona have made at least two offers for Dani Olmo in recent days, but there is no sign of an agreement on the horizon. RB Leipzig are keen not to lose out on any of the original €60m release clause he had in his contract.
That clause expired on the 20th of July, but Leipzig have agreed to honour the agreement, provided a club puts up that money. Amid interest from Bayern Munich, Olmo is prioritising a move back to his boyhood club Barcelona, and has agreed a six-year contract with them.
However Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Leipzig have turned down their latest offer. They are demanding €60m plus add-ons on top of that fee.

The latest reporting was that Barcelona had offered €55m, plus €4m in easy to achieve add-ons, and then €3m in more difficult variables. Meanwhile MD say that Olmo’s agents will travel to Croatia to meet with Olmo, where he is currently on holidays, to discuss routes forward. They will then suggest a new route forward. While the Catalan daily report that their information is of an offer of €47m plus €13m in variables, they do say Barcelona are willing to pay €20-25m in September.

One of the points of disagreement was reportedly the payment schedule. Barcelona would rather pay over a few years, but Leipzig would rather his fee paid in totality in the next year or so. It seems all parties are open to doing the deal, but as is the case with Barcelona often these days, there will concern over their ability to register any new signings.
