It’s been a busy summer for Real Betis, who have already secured five signings. Two of those have been in defence (Romain Perraud and Diego Llorente), where reinforcements were essential. They’re not done yet in this department, with another player set to arrive in the coming days.
As per Relevo, Betis have agreed a contract with Ricardo Rodriguez, who has been a free agent for the last few weeks after his Torino contract expired. The Swiss international also had offers from Saudi Arabia, Istanbul Basaksehir and Hoffenheim, but he’s now set to join Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Rodriguez, who also boasts Wolfsburg and AC Milan on his resume, will fit into the Betis squad nicely, as he can cover at left-back – his natural position – and in central defence, where there is also a shortage of options. He should see a fair amount of playing time during the upcoming season because of his versatility.
