Barcelona starlet opens up on Joshua Kimmich comparisons – “They tell me that…”

It’s highly unlikely that Barcelona will look to sign Joshua Kimmich this summer, despite having been heavily linked with a move for the Bayern Munich midfielder. They may not need him anyway, since it appears that they have their own version at home.

According to Sport, Marc Casado – who impressed during the friendly against Manchester City earlier this week – has been sarcastically nicknamed “Joshua” by his Barcelona teammates, in reference to the Bayern pivot.

Casado was asked about this topic when he spoke to Jijantes.

“They tell me that physically I look a bit alike. Last season I ended up playing as a full-back and centre-half, which is what he does. It’s a joke in the locker room.”

Barcelona could end up signing Kimmich for free next summer, should he decide not to sign a new contract at Bayern. The Catalans will be monitoring that situation, but for now, they are happy to count on Casado.

  2. I will support FC Barcelona forever but really I think they need to work on some factors, like purchasing players. We truly need to start with getting to know whom we want to sign and work towards it but I believe in the management. God bless you all.
